Jürgen Klopp has come out to quell rumors that goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is second hand. Set to leave Liverpool this summer.
Reds’ reserve keeper Kelleher has made just 20 appearances in all competitions, including four in the Premier League, during his five years at Anfield.
The 24-year-old has a contract until 2026 but Liverpool are expected to be willing to sell him for around £20m.
“Kevin Kelleher? What happened to Kelleher?” Klopp asked reporters UFABET
“He has a contract. You want us to say goodbye, Adrian, just in case?”
“Honestly, I didn’t see Caoimhin leaving, it must have been a special offer for me to start thinking that way.”
It is believed that the goalkeeper was born in Cork. Wants to play regularly in the first team to increase his chances of playing for his national team.
Bournemouth’s Mark Travers and Southampton’s Gavin Basunu. Each is a substitute in their own club. That means that if Kelleher gets more game time, he could step up to Ireland’s No 1.
Spurs are reportedly keeping an eye on Kelleher after Hugo Lloris looks set to leave the club this summer.
Meanwhile, third-choice Adrian is out of contract in June, but Klopp hopes to work with the club to extend the Spaniard’s contract for another season.
