Fiorentina midfielder Edoardo Bowe has posted on Instagram for the first time since he collapsed on the pitch during a game against Inter Milan earlier this month.
The 22-year-old was rush to hospital after collapsing during the match at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, but regained consciousness and underwent surgery to install a removable pacemaker, a key part of the protocol that led to his discharge on Friday.
“It’s moments like this that I understand what this sport is all about, and beyond the results, the games and the rivalries, we are all connected,” Bowe wrote on Instagram for the first time.
“The bond that is form, once it is form, becomes even stronger in times of challenge and inseparability.”
“I have experienced this โปรโมชั่น ufabet myself in the last few days. The love I have received, the warmth from the fans, the support from my teammates and opponents, and the closeness from the whole football world has given me incredible strength and courage.”
“I feel like I have a lot of positive energy around me, which helps me stay calm and not feel as isolated as I do in this situation.”
Before a Coppa Italia match last week, which saw Empoli beat Fiorentina 4-3 on penalties after a 2-2 draw between the two sides, staff, players and fans showed their support for Bove in heartfelt scenes at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.
The spectators produced a tifo display in honour of Bove, colourfully exhibiting a banner with the No 4 – his kit number – while others held scarves aloft to express their support.
Bove joined Fiorentina on loan from Roma in August with an option to make the move permanent.
