Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Marcus Rashford move will be difficult due to the huge wage demands he is taking on at Manchester United.

    The England forward has left out of Ruben Amorim’s squad for Sunday’s 2-1 win at Manchester City amid reports the club are open to negotiating a £40million release clause.

    However, with his wages in the region of £300,000 a week. Carragher sees this as a major obstacle to leaving Old Trafford.

    Asked about Rashford’s absence from the squad at the Etihad Stadium. Carragher told Monday Night Football: “I think in some ways it feels like a bigger decision than it really was.”

“Most managers want to send a message to the players about the standards of the club,” the former Liverpool player explained to Sky Sports.

    “I mean, is Marcus Rashford the best in the first 11? Honestly? How good is he? We’re not talking about a world-class superstar here.”

    “I actually think we talk about Rashford too much. He’s a good player, not a great player. It’s time for him to Register ufabet leave the club. I don’t know if anyone would be interest on the wages he’s earning. Who knows.”
